I have been saving my empty clean beauty products for a good three months, and my basket was very much overflowing – letting me know that it was time to share them on here (and finally put them in the recycling)! It’s a mixed bag of hit and miss. I hope you enjoy!

→ Dr Organic Coffee Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – for the past few years now, I’ve been on the hunt for a good anti-dandruff shampoo: my perfect one would be one that gently cleans my scalp, helps with the itchiness, makes my hair shine and doesn’t make my hair greasy after a day. Well, long story short, I’m still looking! I enjoyed using this Dr Organic shampoo, I do think it helped with the flakiness and the itching, but the thick consistency made it difficult to get out of the bottle, and I definitely had to wash my hair every two days instead of my usual three with a different shampoo, so it’s a no from me. I’ve moved on to a Body Shop shampoo that I’m hoping will work better for my hair!
→ Lamazuna Solid Shampoo for Oily Hair – my first solid shampoo, and it was an absolute success! I was a bit apprehensive about starting to use solid shampoos, but in the end this one worked a treat for me. You wet your hair, rub the shampoo all over to make it foamy, and then wash your hair! I was able to stick to washing my hair every three days which was amazing. The only downside for me is that I think it exacerbated my dandruff a little bit, so in the end I had to use it in conjunction with an anti-dandruff shampoo so that it wouldn’t irritate my scalp too much. Other than that, I absolutely loved it! What I loved about Lamazuna is that it’s truly zero waste, the shampoo only comes in a recyclable cardboard box, so you’ve finished the shampoo, you put your box in the recycling, and voilà!
→ Ayumi Intensive Hair Conditioning Treatment – I loved any and all Ayumi products I’ve tried so far, and this one was no exception! I really thought this conditioner worked well for my hair, it was easy to apply and rinse off, and it really made my hair softer and hydrated. I will definitely buy it again once I’ve used up my current one!
→ Schmidt’s Lime and Bergamot Deodorant – I’ve been using natural deodorants for a long time now, and I haven’t found anything better than this Schmidt’s one. It works so well for me! It smells lovely, it’s easy to apply (I do have a preference for the aluminium pot as opposed to the stick which is the format I finished up this month!), and it truly keeps bad smells away for the whole day! I run around a lot in my full-time job and this has truly held up from 7am to 5pm without my reapplying any at all! It also lasts three, four months which considering how much it cost, was really good. A really good deodorant that I can only recommend you buy!
→ Eco-Denta Extra Black Whitening Toothpaste with Black Charcoal – I have to say that it took me SO LONG to switch to natural toothpaste, and to be honest, I sometimes go back to (it’s bad, I know) just because I have not found one that works for me yet. It took me forever to use up this Eco-Denta toothpaste, because for some reason I just didn’t feel like it was cleaning my teeth very well! I think what threw me off a little bit was that it wasn’t foaming up as much as a “normal” toothpaste, so I just didn’t feel like it was doing its job properly (silly, I know). Overall, I enjoyed using it towards the end, but I’m still not fully convinced it was cleaning my teeth well. I’m currently trialling another natural toothpaste, I’ll report back on my thoughts!
→ Hurraw Moon Night Treatment Lip Balm – I already mentioned this lip balm in my Cold Weather Favourites post back in February, and my opinion hasn’t change at all! I honestly could not use another lip balm anymore, this Hurraw night treatment is my absolute favourite. It saved my lips over the winter months! It applies really well, deeply moisturises the lips and it’s lasted me about six months which is amazing! I’ve already re-purchased it twice to have stock now winter is approaching and I can only recommend you do the same!
New additions
→ UpCircle Face Toner with Mandarin and Chamomile + Face Serum with Coffee Oil + Coffee Face Scrub – I finally took the plunge and bought a couple of Upcircle products, a brand I’d been wanting to try out for a while! This face toner and face serum have both joined my beauty shelf and I’m really looking forward to see how they hold up against my old favourites. I’ve already used the mist a couple of times and while I do like the product itself, I’m not a big fan of the spray which delivers too much product at once and is quite a powerful spray as opposed to a thinner mist… But, we’ll see how I get on with it! The serum will join my beauty routine soon!
UpCircle is a brand that prides itself on being sustainable by offering packaging that is 99% plastic-free and 100% recyclable, and offers a refill scheme for even less waste which is amazing. I’m very happy to be supporting them!
→ Ayumi Turmeric Face Mask – I’m really excited to try out this face mask from Ayumi, which is a brand that we both really like at home! I’ve been using their sandalwood mask for a while and it’s doing my skin a lot of good, so I’m hoping this one will as well! I own the face mask from the same range and I’m already a fan!
What products have you used up recently?

Thanks for these reviews. I definitely want to try out that conditioner and also the lip balm!
They are both really good products, I highly recommend them! x
I totally appreciate your honest reviews! I struggle so much with finding a good shampoo bar because like you, I have a very sensitive scalp and need something that won’t irritate the dandruff or make it really itchy. I’ve had to just go back to Head & Shoulders as I haven’t found anything better :/
Have you tried the Body Shop ginger shampoo? It’s what I’m using at the moment and I have found it’s really doing my sensitive scalp good! I can’t use shampoo bars by themselves because of how they bad my dandruff gets, I always have to have two shampoos on the go in that case! x
I love that these products are sustainable and clean. I am trying to buy more sustainable and green beauty products. I have heard of the Ayumi Turmeric Face Mask. I’ll check the remaining out.
That’s really good of you, well done for taking that step! I’m glad this post helped 🙂 x
I have a basic anti-dandruff shampoo at the moment, but I need to get a better one! This is a great choice x
I’m using the Body Shop ginger one at the moment, it’s also very good! x
Al naturel, sounds like great natural products! Thanks for sharing!
I’m gald you liked it 🙂 x
