Before sinking your teeth into this blog post, I would like to wish you a warm welcome to my blog! This is my first post (the first of many!) and I hope you enjoy ♥
The longest month of the year is finally over! I know I’m not the only who feels like January drags on, and on, and on, and is a happy bunny when February finally comes around. And this month is literally the perfect month – have you seen the calendar? it starts on a Monday and finishes on a Sunday, what a dream. I’m ready to start this month afresh and to get out of that sluggish state I’ve been in during the whole of January!

new routines
My routines over the Christmas period and the whole of January have been seriously all over the place, I had no structure to my day at all; no set waking up or bed times, no set work schedule, meal times… I guess that’s lockdown for you, working from home when you’re not used to it can be challenging. I have a few habits and routines I’d like to put back in place in February, like writing to-do lists the night before, starting my work day no later than 9:30, tidying my desk every night after work, having a self-care day on Sundays, doing yoga three to four times a week… basically getting back into the swing of things and plan, plan, plan!
daily walks
Since the beginning of lockdown number one (yes, we have to number them at this point), I’ve been really bad at going outside. The point of lockdown was obviously to stay at home as much as possible, and although I’ve always been someone who loves being cooped up inside, I actually felt that staying inside all day, every day was taking its toll on my mental health. I felt really sluggish, in the worst of moods… So, this time around, I’m fully taking advantage of that one hour a day we’re allowed outside of our four walls and I’ve been trying to leave the house at least three to four times a week. I use this time to get some fresh air, some exercise and to clear my head, and I’ve very much felt the difference in my mood and productivity. This truly is an act of self-care! So this month, I’m going to try and go for a walk outside every single day! I’ve been busier than normal with work recently, it’s unlikely to slow down anytime soon and I feel that a daily walk in the evening after a day of work will definitely help me feel more centred and refreshed, ready for the next day!
start a gratitude list
When I used to bullet journal, some of the page inspiration that I used to come across fairly often was a gratitude list. I always thought that with my life being the boring life it is, I would never be able to list a few things I was grateful for every single day and I quickly discarded the idea. But recently, I’ve started to think that I should give it a go after all. With the situation we’re in today, I feel that it’s important to find little joys in these dark times. So in February, I’m going to attempt to list three things I’m grateful for at least four times a week, whether it is something trivial like “I made a nice cup of tea today” or something with a bit more meaning. We’ll see how that goes!
blog
Last but not least, I’ve obviously started my blog this month and I’d love to get some content out there as soon as possible! I’d been thinking about starting a blog in English for a long time, having written a blog in French for years, mostly because I found that having moved to England, the range of posts I could write had become limited: somehow, writing about Leicestershire didn’t appeal to French people… So, this blog was born simply because I want to share my English finds and musings with people who actually might be interested to read it! I have a few posts planned out already, mostly some home and beauty ones, and I’m hoping to post at least once a week. In the meantime, you can join me on instagram and twitter to find out more about me!
What are your goals this February?
Em ♥

Great post! There are some lovely goals for yourself this month, and I look forward to reading more content from you this month 🙂 I think it’s so cool that you blogged in French and now blog in your second language. I speak French and I’ve always thought it would be cool to write a blog post or two in it, to keep up the practice x
Thank you!! I hope you enjoy 🙂 That’s such a good idea, I hope you go through with it!! Even translating posts in italics under you English writing would help 🙂 x
Welcome to blogging first of all! To-do lists and positive affirmations have helped me so much during lockdown! Hope to read more about your blog soon x
