Hello friends, and happy December! First post of the month, and it’s a Christmas gift guide, what else! Last year, I talked you through eco-friendly gift ideas – which are still very much relevant today. While I have lots of other ideas for eco-friendly gifts, I thought I’d go for something else that really sums up who I am – homey bits! So, I’ve decided to do this year’s gift guide on some home Christmas gift ideas. I tried to make sure they could suit all family members, and I definitely think I’ve even managed children… Let me know!
Kindle/Book sleeve
If you have book lovers and avid readers in circle of family and friends, this is definitely a gift to consider! I’ve owned a sleeve since last Christmas when it was given to me as a gift and I love it so much! I like to read both physical paperbacks and my Kindle, I usually use my sleeve for whichever one I have on the go at that time. I think that apart from the fact it looks nice on your bedside table, it has a very practical side to it: it keeps my Kindle safe, as the screen doesn’t always completely turn off and it also keeps it from getting scratches. And it’s super useful as far as travelling goes, as it protects your paperbacks and Kindle if you’re taking it with you! There are plenty available from small shops and creators on Etsy, we got ours from Seana and we’ve been very happy with them so far!
Tumblers / Travel Mugs
If you’re looking for a gift for the coffee and tea lovers in your life, this is a very good one to think about! I think it’s a little bit more original than a traditional (even if very pretty) mug as it keeps your hot beverages hot for quite a long time, perfect if you’re on the go or don’t have access to a kettle at work. I’ve been using one for a couple of months now, as I’m not a big fan of using mugs at work (all that washing up!) so it’s easier to use the one tumbler. I also struggle to drink all of my teas and coffees in one go as I’m always talking, so it’s nice to be able to go back to a drink that is still hot whenever I can! I recently got my own from the brand Birdie Barn, a small UK business based in Lancashire. You can’t go wrong with this home Christmas gift idea!
Scrunchies
This one is very niche, I have to admit. But if you have hair that’s long enough to be put up, you need a scrunchie in your life! Scrunchies are so much better for your hair than normal hair elastics, they don’t damage your hair as they are softer and not as tight which also helps prevent headaches if you tie your hair up a lot. They are such fun for gift giving in my opinion, as you can buy so many different patterns! My local hairdresser makes them in her spare time, I’ve already bought three from her (someone stop me). I have picked up many from Etsy shops with lots of different and seasonal patterns, it can become a bit of an obsession!

Book sets / Special Editions
I think book sets and special editions make such good home Christmas gift ideas! I’ve always thought that special editions are a very special gift to give, as it feels a lot more thoughtful to give a special edition of a book you know they already love and will appreciate, rather than pick a random book and hope they’ll like it/don’t already have it. Personally, this year I will be gifting a book from the Penguin Clothbound Classics editions to my best friend as I know she’s always wanted one, and I will give my mum a few books from the Harper Collins collection of Hercule Poirot, as they look really lovely!
Crocheted plants
This one is very, very niche. But, hear me out. I think in terms of home Christmas gift ideas, they are so good if you’re looking to decorate your home or work space – they genuinely put a smile on my face when I glance at them at work! For example, aren’t these succulents the cutest plants you’ve ever seen?! I think crochet and embroidery are really on the up and while you may not want to actually take it up yourself, or gift a how to kit to a loved one, a pre-made little object can be a cute stocking filler. I’m specifically talking plants here because, how many of us have thought about getting a plant but backtracked because we’d never be able to keep it alive? These are a better option than fake plants in my opinion, as they look just as nice around your home and are definitely cuter!
Sleepwear
And last but not least… sleepwear! I do feel that Christmas is a good opportunity to ask for new sleepwear, as it’s not necessarily something we give much thought to unlike day time clothes – I feel like my own view towards it is, if I can sleep in it, then it works fine as pyjamas. But really, we should be more thoughtful about our sleepwear! And this is why I’ve included it in this gift guide. What we wear is entirely a part of out night routine, whether we realise it or not. Pyjamas, socks, sleep mask… Anything goes! And there are so many different types of sleepwear that in terms of gift-giving, you really can’t go wrong, even if just to lounge in it.

Great ideas, there are things that I never thought of as a gift. That’s what I like about these gift guides. Such as Crocheted plants

Great list of Christmas gift ideas! I must admit I’m loving scrunchies at the moment and would be thrilled if I received any for Christmas. I think sleepwear is a good idea, too, especially thicker, warmer pyjamas for the colder weather. X
Honestly, crocheted succulents are freaking adorable! I’d love to get a couple as a gift and may not have to strongly hint at my husband for some, haha! I love the ideas on your list; so interesting and a bot more unique!
