Happy New Year, friends! I hope 2023 brings you health, peace and joy.
For the first post of year, a goal setting write-up seemed very fitting. I went back and forth this year on whether I should set goals or not in January, as I’m not the best at following through and actually achieving all my goals as others can (and do), I actually find it very difficult to keep motivated. So my list of goals for 2023 is relatively short, so that I can try and keep on top of it!
I have 4 goals for 2023. But before I dive into those, I wanted to have a quick overview of my 2022 goals.

A review of last year’s goals
Last year, I set 5 goals that I thought would be achievable in that time frame and for the most part, I did achieve them!
Read 25 books: I almost completed this challenge and read 24 books in 2022, I fell one short unfortunately. I will be attempting the challenge again, but setting it at 24 books this time!
Practise yoga: this one is a big fat fail. I didn’t do any yoga at all in 2022, I can hardly write the words without feeling ashamed!
Build my savings back up: I’m really pleased to say I did manage to build some savings back up in 2022! I exceeded my target of £2022 and was really fortunate to get a pay rise earlier in the year. Hopefully, I can continue to put some money aside in 2023!
Explore the UK: unfortunately, I didn’t manage to. My fiancé and I went to the Harry Potter Studios in October, but that was about all the exploring that we did! But we have some plans for the summer holidays, and I hope we can make it happen.
Cook some new recipes: this one was a resounding success! I’m pretty sure I managed to cook two to three new recipes a month in 2022 and I’m genuinely happy I managed that. I’m hoping to continue cooking some new things this year, it’s definitely one of my unofficial goals for 2023!
My list of goals for 2023
Get into a skincare routine. In the last few months I have really fallen out of a routine for pretty much everything. Cleaning, cooking, morning, evening… And I don’t like not having a routine! My skincare especially has been all over the shop and my skin has very much suffered for it. I got recommended an Instagram reel of a skincare routine, then another and another and I fell into a rabbit hole. That made me realise I’d been doing everything all wrong. I’m in my mid-20s now, and I feel I really need to start getting into a proper skincare routine that I know future me will thank me for! So, I’ve bought some products and I’m ready to take care of my skin. I will probably post a skincare routine on the blog soon, so stay tuned!
Publish 26 blogposts. Consistency is something I’ve struggled with ever since I started blogging years ago. I enjoy blogging, I enjoy creating posts and pictures, but I’ve always struggled with motivation in all aspects of my life and blogging is no different. So in my goals for 2023, blogging consistently is at the top of the list! 26 blogposts a year seems to be a good starting point for me, that’s 2 a month and with my current lifestyle and demanding full time job, it seems to be a good goal to have. I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself, or I know I’ll end up not enjoying it anymore! I would love to manage more though, we shall see!
Pick up a new hobby/skill. Even though blogging is my main hobby, I don’t actually have any others to be honest with you! I’ve started reading again in the evening, like I said, and I’m managing about two books a month which is good for me, but I wouldn’t say I consider it a hobby as I mostly do it to wind down before bed. So I’d now like to pick up something new to try and get good at! At the moment my fiancé and I are looking into some board games and we’ve started playing chess, it’s been really fun! I also want to have a go at doing some watercolour paintings. There are so many things out there that I could be doing, 2023 is the year I pick up a new hobby!
Get my body moving. This was already one of my goals for 2022, and I failed miserably, so it’s going back on my list of goals for 2023! Last year, I wrote in my 2022 goals about taking up yoga again after a few months off and I’m really annoyed that I didn’t actually manage to do it all. Yes, you read correctly, I didn’t do any at all! So I’m going to scale it back a little bit this year and start slow, by going on longer walks at the weekend and once during the week to hit 10k steps a few times a week, and do yoga as a bonus exercise at the weekend. Like I said before, I’m in my mid-20s now and I know future me will thank me for taking care of my body!

2023 is also the year I’m hoping to up my blogging game (as well as being consistent!) and offer different things on my blog, including some freebies! So, for my first freebie ever, it only felt right to offer a template to set goals. On this printable A4 sheet, you will find a section to write your word of the year at the top, and then it is broken down in three sections for your personal, career & financial, and physical & mental health goals. There are 3 bullet points for each category – being overwhelmed is never the objective when setting goals for the year ahead! I have designed this goals sheet exactly how I wanted it, so I hope it will be useful to you, whenever you are reading this post. It can be used at anytime throughout the year!

What are your goals for 2023?
Em ♥

Wishing you all the best for achieving your goals!!!
Thank you so much!
A proper, regular skincare routine is one of the most important things I need to start and end my day. Once you make it a habit, it becomes second nature- and I agree that it’s so important to feel good about your day. Thank you for sharing these goals- good luck with them all, and best wishes for 2023 x
It’s only been a few days, but I’m sticking to a simple morning/evening skincare and it’s working so far! Wishing a wonderful 2023 to you too x
Good luck with all of your goals! You came so close with reading last year, you’ll smash 24 this year for sure. Focusing on getting moving is such a good one, as it’s one you can start small and really build up, so you’re not pushing the limits straight from the get go. I definitely need to do that more too. I hope you have a lovely 2023 xx

I hope so, thank you! Yes exactly, that’s what I’m thinking of doing, baby steps. I hope you have a great 2023 too! xx
You got some good goals for 2023. I wish you all the best. I hope 2023 will be a good year for you.
Thank you, and thank you for stopping by! x
this looks like an awesome freebie!
your goals for 2023 are really awesome – I also set myself a book reading goal in 2022 that I didn’t quite reach and hope to this year x
Thank you! I hope you manage to reach your goal this year, best of luck! x
24 books is still really good! what was your favorite read of the year? i’m also trying to stay more consistent on the blog & posting at least once a week. scheduling out the posts ahead of time really helps. i tend to bulk write when i feel the creative juices flowing.
I loved A Postcard from Italy from Alex Brown, a really nice feel good book/romance to read! Thanks for the tip, scheduling I also struggle with so much so I’ll have to make an effort for sure! x
Best of luck on your 2023 goals! I do Yoga every day, so if you need any motivation, just gimmie a shout haha! Have you tried Yoga With Adriene’s January 30-day journey? It doesn’t matter than we’re on day 5 of the month already, you can definitely do it all in your own time but I find those January Yoga journeys are great for keeping motivated to do it!
Ooh yes Jenny, I’ll take the yoga buddy!! I did two years ago yes, I did it all without fail for 30 days and then completely stopped unfortunately, I’m looking to start again about 2-3 times for 20min seems a good idea! I will have a look at her current one and see what I can do!
Ah, only one book away from your original goal, and now that’s at where you reached. I’m sure you will achieve it and maybe even better. I wish you best of luck with your goals!
I know, I’m really hoping I will reach my goal this year! Thank you very much 🙂
I love that you picked a blogging goal that’s attainable! Last year, I tried to post 2-3 per week and it became really overwhelming. Lately, my goal has been 4 each month, and I’ve been able to handle that.
I can’t image trying to post more than once a week, I simply don’t have the time! 4 times a month is good, that was my original idea, but then I thought if I took it slower I could build up to that more consistently!
These are a great list of goals you have set yourself for 2023! Reading 25 books is a challenge, but I’m sure you’ll smash it! I would love to be able to get into yoga, but I’ve always struggled with it in the past. However, I would love to try it again to gain more flexibility! x

Hopefully I will! Flexibility is also something I want to work towards! x
Great goals and realistic. Best of luck for the year ahead.
Thank you very much!
I wish you all the best on nailing these goals this year! You can do it!! Just take it one step at a time. But, equally, remember your health and happiness comes first.
Thank you so much! That’s so very true, I also need to put myself first and my happiness. I wish you an amazing 2023 as well x
I failed at yoga last year too and I think I’m going to set it aside for now, haha! I wish you all the best with your new goals for 2023 ± Happy New Year!
Thank you, I hope you have an amazing 2023! x
We have the same bee kind mug! Love these goals and good luck for reaching them! One of my goals this year is to blog consistently too – going to attempt one post a week.
Thank you! I hope you reach your goal this year as well x
I also plan to get my body moving this year! It’s bad that I live a mostly sedentary life. Also I need a morning skincare routine. Great post!
Me too, I mostly stay in one place all day so I need to get moving! Thank you for stopping by x
Reading 24 books is great. I only read a book at Christmas. But want to get through all the books I haven’t read I. My pile this year. You have set some goals this year. Good luck with achieving them.
Happy new year!
Lauren
Good luck with getting through your TBR, let me know how you get on! Thank you so much, you too x
Thanks for sharing your goals with us. But why 26 blog posts only? Are you following a content calendar or something else? Waiting for your reply.
Not at all! 2 blogposts a month just seemed more manageable. I post when I like!
